Episode 55: The Raw Eyes of My Mother

August 03, 2017  /  Dawn Humphrey

Jen and Dawn sink their teeth into two movies that wowed them at Fantastic Fest 2016: Raw and The Eyes of My Mother. Both feature women struggling with their internal demons, dysfunctional families, and what it means to be whole and they do it by focusing wholly on the women at the center of their macabre tales. Haunting and visceral, together they are an interesting mix of stress, tension and dread while tackling very different problems: internal and external.

Thanks always to The Shape for the intro and outro music. Now also featuring, "Fritz Was Here" by YoshiBlade (via OCRemix).
