Episode 29: The Nightmare Ends Part Two

April 03, 2016  /  Dawn Humphrey

If you haven't listened to Part One, STOP. Go listen and we'll be here when you get back.

What do cults, OJ Simpson-esque trials and the Holy Grail have in common? They were all initial concepts for what would become the highest-grossing entry in the Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th franchises. And they weren't the only ones. Join Dawn and Jen as they wade through a decade of development hell and one actually decent movie with their look at the final* movie in Freddy canon with Freddy vs. Jason.

NOTE: Due to some UNFORTUNATE AND LAZY script choices, this posdcast contains discussions of rape and homophobic slurs. They made it in the movie and we're not letting them get off that easy.

This episode is the second part of a two-parter that covers Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare and Freddy vs. Jason.

Nightmare 2 was covered in Episode 11.
Nightmares 1 and 3 were covered in Episode 24 and Episode 25.
Nightmares 4 and 5 were covered in Episode 26 and Episode 27.

"How Can I Live" by Ill Nino

*Again, we know Wes Craven's New Nightmare is a thing, but it's not generally considered part of "official" canon and it's getting it's own episode. Be patient, horror fans. We got your back.
